SELLAS Life Sciences Group (NASDAQ: SLS) announced the appointment of Linghua Wang, MD, PhD, to its Scientific Advisory Board. Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Genomic Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Wang leads the Computational Biology Laboratory at MD Anderson and holds a dual appointment as an Associate Member of The James P. Allison Institute. She also serves as Co-Lead of Focus Area 2 at the Institute for Data Science in Oncology and is a faculty member in PhD programs at UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

Her research focuses on tumor ecosystems, cellular and molecular heterogeneity, and interactions between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment. Wang's group uses single-cell and spatial omics, molecular imaging, and machine learning approaches in their research.

Wang earned her PhD in Cancer Genomics from the University of Tokyo and completed postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine before joining MD Anderson in 2017. She has published over 100 articles in scientific journals and holds multiple NIH/NCI funded grants.

The appointment follows recent additions of Philip C. Amrein, MD, and Alex Kentsis, MD, PhD, to the company's Scientific Advisory Board. SELLAS is developing GPS, a therapeutic targeting the WT1 protein, and SLS009, a CDK9 inhibitor for cancer treatment.

Wang receives compensation as a member of SELLAS's Scientific Advisory Board, which has been disclosed to MD Anderson's Conflict of Interest Committee according to institutional policy.
