PDD Holdings appoints Jiazhen Zhao as co-chairman of board

PDD Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: PDD) announced the appointment of Jiazhen Zhao as co-chairman of its board of directors, alongside Lei Chen. Zhao will continue serving as co-chief executive officer while taking on the additional role.

Zhao, a founding member of the company, was appointed as director and co-CEO in April 2023. He previously served as senior vice president from 2018 to 2023 and has held various leadership positions across the organization. His responsibilities have included starting the Duo Duo Grocery business, leading operations for key product categories including agriculture on the Pinduoduo platform, and overseeing supply chain initiatives.

The company also announced the appointment of Mi Wang as senior vice president of engineering and Jiong Li as financial director.

Wang joined PDD Holdings in 2018 and most recently served as vice president of research and development. Prior to joining the company, he worked at Tencent for seven years from 2011 to 2018 and at Oracle for three years from 2008 to 2011 as an engineer.

Li is a certified public accountant who previously worked at KPMG Advisory (China) Limited before joining PDD Holdings.

The appointments were disclosed in a company statement.
