Newsmax appoints David Evans to board of directors

Newsmax Inc. (NYSE: NMAX) appointed David Evans to its board of directors, effective March 19. Evans brings 25 years of public company financial and operational leadership experience to the media company.



Evans previously served as chief operating officer of Salem Media Group from 2022 to 2025, where he oversaw digital media, e-commerce and finance operations. He held the role of division president of new media and publishing at Salem from 2007 to 2021, and served as executive vice president and chief financial officer from 2000 to 2006.



"David's exceptional track record as a CFO and COO of a publicly traded multi-media company, combined with his deep expertise in both digital media transformation and the capital markets, makes him an invaluable addition to our Board," said Christopher Ruddy, Newsmax CEO, according to the company's press release.



During his tenure as CFO at Salem Media Group, Evans helped execute a $93 million equity offering and secured more than $500 million in debt capital. He also established the company's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance framework.



Evans joins six existing board members including CEO Christopher Ruddy, former U.S. Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta, Ambassador Nancy Brinker, Chris Nixon Cox, Ambassador Paula Dobriansky and David Gandler.



The appointment comes as Newsmax continues expanding its streaming services and digital media operations. The company operates the Newsmax channel and reaches more than 50 million Americans through various media properties including television, digital platforms and publications.
