NEW GOLD director Christian Milau resigns from board

New Gold Inc. (NYSE American: NGD) announced that director Christian Milau has resigned from the company's board of directors, effective immediately, to pursue other opportunities.
Milau served on the board for approximately one year. Richard O'Brien, chair of the board, said the company was active during Milau's tenure with corporate development activities and operational achievements.
New Gold operates two producing assets in Canada: the New Afton copper-gold mine and the Rainy River gold mine. The Toronto-based intermediate mining company focuses on gold and copper production.
The resignation was announced in a company statement on August 18.
