Metropolitan Bank names Anthony Fabiano as chairman

Metropolitan Bank Holding Corp. (NYSE: MCB) announced that its board of directors elected Anthony J. Fabiano as independent chairman of the board. William Reinhardt, who served as chairman since 2018, will remain on the board as a member.

Fabiano brings over 40 years of experience in finance, accounting and management, primarily in banking. He joined the board in 2020 and currently chairs the joint audit committee of both the company and bank boards. He previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of the company and Metropolitan Commercial Bank.

The board also elected Fabiano as chairman of the bank's board of directors. Metropolitan Bank Holding Corp. is the parent company of Metropolitan Commercial Bank, a New York City-based commercial bank that provides banking services to individuals, businesses and institutions.

"I am deeply grateful to my fellow board members for entrusting me with this responsibility," Fabiano said in a statement. "It is a dynamic and exciting time at MCB, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board and the Bank's management team to support and guide MCB through its next chapter of growth."

The company's president and chief executive officer praised Fabiano's appointment and thanked Reinhardt for his leadership. Reinhardt has served on the board since 2013.
