Mary McDowell joins Zebra Technologies board of directors

Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA) appointed Mary McDowell to its board of directors, effective July 25, 2025, according to a company statement. With McDowell's addition, Zebra's board will have eleven members. She will serve on the board's audit committee.

McDowell previously served as president, CEO, and board director of Mitel Networks, a company with $1 billion in revenue. She also held the position of CEO and board director at Polycom, an enterprise communications company that was sold to Plantronics.

In December 2024, McDowell was named board chair for Informa TechTarget, a NASDAQ-listed B2B data platform company. She currently serves on the board of Arrow Electronics, a Fortune 500 technology distributor.

"Her 30+ years of experience leading global technology organizations through significant business and technology transformations will support our goal of driving long-term value for our shareholders," said Anders Gustafsson, chair of Zebra Technologies.

McDowell's previous roles include executive partner at private equity firm Siris Capital and executive vice president at Nokia, where she led the company's $15 billion global feature phone business operating in 180 countries. She also held senior positions at Hewlett Packard and Compaq Computer.

McDowell holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She previously served on the boards of Autodesk, Informa, UBM, and Bazaarvoice.
