MPLX elects Maryann Mannen as chairman effective Jan. 1

MPLX LP (NYSE: MPLX) announced that its board of directors elected Maryann T. Mannen as chairman of the board, effective Jan. 1, 2026. Mannen, who currently serves as president and chief executive officer, will assume the chairman role in addition to her existing responsibilities.



Mannen will succeed Michael J. Hennigan, who elected to retire as executive chairman and board member, also effective Jan. 1, 2026. Chris Helms will continue serving as the independent lead director of the board.



Hennigan has led MPLX's general partner as chairman since April 2020, served as CEO from November 2019 to August 2024, and as president from June 2017 to August 2024. Mannen has been CEO since August 2024 and a board member since February 2021.



The company also announced that effective Jan. 1, 2026, Hennigan will retire as executive chairman of Marathon Petroleum Corp., with Mannen succeeding him as chairman while continuing as MPC's president and CEO.

MPLX is a master limited partnership that operates midstream energy infrastructure and logistics assets, including crude oil and refined product pipelines, terminals, storage facilities, and natural gas processing operations across key U.S. supply basins.
