LightPath Technologies names former Northrop Grumman executive to board

LightPath Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: LPTH) appointed Mark Caylor to its board of directors, effective October 9, 2025, according to a company statement.



Caylor served as president of Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector before retiring. The sector supplies sensing, processing, and communications technologies for defense and intelligence customers, with operations in the U.S. and Europe. He previously held roles as president of Enterprise Services and chief strategy officer at Northrop Grumman, where he led shared services, corporate strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. Caylor also served as corporate vice president and treasurer, managing the company's liquidity, insurance, and capital structure.



The executive has over 35 years of defense industry experience and joined Northrop Grumman in 2002. He began his career at Hughes Aircraft Company in 1988, leading commercial business development and engineering spacecraft systems. Caylor holds a bachelor's degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from MIT, a master's degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Caltech, and an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management.



"After leading an $11 billion technology business with 25,000 employees as President of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, he is an incredible asset to help guide our vision forward," said Sam Rubin, LightPath's chief executive officer.



LightPath Technologies provides optics and imaging systems for defense and commercial applications. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Orlando, Florida, with additional locations in Texas, New Hampshire, Latvia, and China.
