Entergy appoints Lewis Ropp to board of directors

Entergy Corporation (NYSE: ETR) announced the election of R. Lewis Ropp as an independent director, effective Aug. 15. The appointment expands Entergy's board to 11 directors.

Ropp, 66, recently retired as senior equity partner and senior managing director of Dallas-based energy investment firm Barrow Hanley Global Investors. At Barrow Hanley, he managed more than $5 billion in assets under management across Large Cap Value, Dividend Focused Value and US ESG Value portfolios. The firm has historically been one of Entergy's largest institutional investors.

"Lewis has extensive experience in both the finance industry and energy operations, along with a deep understanding of the opportunities facing our industry," said Drew Marsh, Entergy chair and CEO, according to the company's announcement.

Ropp will serve on Entergy's audit and corporate governance committees. His background includes roles as a research analyst covering exploration and production companies at Howard, Weil, Labouisse, Friedrichs, Inc., and Frost Securities, Inc., where he served as managing director.

Earlier in his career, Ropp worked in oil and gas operations, including positions as associate project engineer at Baker Hughes Company and process team leader at Shell Oil Company. He holds an MBA and Master of Science in Engineering from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisiana.

Ropp currently serves on the board of directors of Magnolia Oil & Gas Company. Entergy provides electricity to 3 million customers through operating companies in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
