Entera Bio names former Pfizer executive as new chairman

February 9, 2026 8:50 AM EST

Entera Bio Ltd. (NASDAQ: ENTX) appointed Geno J. Germano as Chairman of the Board, effective February 4, 2026, according to a press release statement. Germano succeeds Gerald Lieberman, who stepped down from the position.

The appointment comes as Entera plans to advance two oral PTH peptide programs into clinical testing within 2026, including a Phase 3 registrational study for EB613 in osteoporosis and a first-in-human study for Long-Acting Oral PTH in hypoparathyroidism.

Germano brings over three decades of pharmaceutical industry experience, including senior leadership roles at Pfizer. He previously served as Group President of Pfizer's Global Innovative Pharmaceutical Business, overseeing approximately $14 billion in innovative medicines portfolio. From 2009 to 2013, he led Pfizer's Specialty Care and Oncology business units.

"Entera's lead clinical asset, EB613, has the potential to fundamentally change how osteoporosis is treated," Germano stated in the release. He noted that while anabolic therapies are established as effective, their use has been limited by injection requirements.

Germano currently serves on the board of Precision Biosciences, Inc. and has previously served on boards of several biotechnology companies including Sage Therapeutics, Orbital Therapeutics, Bioverativ Inc., and The Medicines Company. He holds a B.S. in Pharmacy from Albany College of Pharmacy.

Entera develops oral peptide and protein replacement therapies using its N-Tab technology platform. The company's EB613 program represents a potential first oral treatment for osteoporosis, while EB612 targets hypoparathyroidism treatment.
