Emera shareholders elect 11 directors at annual meeting

Emera Inc. (NYSE: EMA) announced that shareholders elected all 11 nominated directors at the company's annual meeting held May 21, 2026. The Halifax, Nova Scotia-based energy company reported that each nominee received approval through ballot voting.
Scott C. Balfour received the highest support with 99.75% of votes cast in favor, while Henry E. Demone received the lowest approval rate at 96.64%. The complete slate of elected directors includes James V. Bertram, Isabelle Courville, Paula Y. Gold-Williams, Kent M. Harvey, B. Lynn Loewen, Ian E. Robertson, Karen H. Sheriff, Jochen E. Tilk, and Carla M. Tully.
The voting results showed strong shareholder support across all nominees, with approval rates ranging from 96.64% to 99.75%. Withheld votes represented a small percentage of total ballots cast, ranging from 0.25% to 3.36%.
Emera stated that complete voting results from the annual meeting will be filed with regulatory authorities on SEDAR+ and with the Securities and Exchange Commission on EDGAR.
The company provides energy services to approximately 2.6 million customers across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean through its regulated electric and natural gas utilities and related businesses.
