DIH Holding US appoints Scott Burell to board of directors

DIH Holding US, Inc. (NASDAQ: DHAI) announced the appointment of Scott R. Burell to its Board of Directors. The company provides robotic devices for rehabilitation that incorporate visual stimulation for patients with walking impairments and reduced balance.

Burell serves as Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of AIVITA Biomedical, Inc., an immuno-oncology company. He previously worked as CFO of CombiMatrix Corporation through its acquisition by Invitae Corp. Burell also sits on the Board of Directors of Microbot Medical, Inc., a medical device company focused on micro-robotics technologies.

The executive holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Finance from Central Washington University and is a certified public accountant. He has over 20 years of experience in healthcare finance, leading public life sciences companies through transactions and growth phases.

CEO Jason Chen stated that Burell brings financial expertise and life sciences experience to the board. "His deep understanding of medical technology companies and proven ability to drive value creation will strengthen our board as we continue executing our growth strategy," Chen said.

Burell commented on his appointment, saying he looks forward to contributing to the company's rehabilitation technology mission and supporting value creation for shareholders.

The Board of Directors now has six members, with four independent members. DIH operates as a provider of advanced robotic devices used in physical rehabilitation and describes itself as a consolidator in the rehabilitation solutions industry.
