CopperCorp Resources Inc. (TSXV: CPER) (OTCQB: CPCPF) (FSE: NU0) appointed Alan Coutts to its board of directors, effective immediately, according to a company statement.

Coutts brings over 35 years of experience in mineral exploration, project development, and mine operations across Australia, Canada, and other international jurisdictions.

Most recently, Coutts served as president and CEO of Noront Resources Ltd., which Wyloo Metals acquired in April 2022 for approximately C$650 million following a bidding contest with BHP. The acquisition focused on Noront's Eagle's Nest Ni-Cu-PGE project in Ontario's Ring of Fire district. Following the transaction, Coutts joined Wyloo's advisory board for a two-year term.

His career includes serving as executive general manager and managing director of Xstrata Nickel Australasia from 2008-2013, where he oversaw three producing nickel mines and two processing plants in Western Australia with over 800 employees. He also served on the board of the US$5 billion Koniambo Nickel Project in New Caledonia.

From 2003-2008, Coutts managed the Brunswick 12 mine for Noranda Mines, a 10,000 tonnes per day underground Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag operation with 850 employees. He previously served as general superintendent at Falconbridge Raglan mine in Quebec Arctic from 1999-2003, leading underground and open-pit nickel sulphide operations with 450 employees.

CopperCorp granted Coutts 400,000 incentive stock options exercisable at C$0.165 per share for five years, subject to vesting provisions and TSX Venture Exchange approval.

The company focuses on exploration and development of its Skyline and AMC copper-gold-REE projects in western Tasmania, Australia.
