Chevron adds Thomas W. Horton to board of directors

Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) announced that Thomas W. Horton has joined its board of directors as an independent director and has been appointed to the board audit committee.
Horton, 64, is a partner at Global Infrastructure Partners, a global infrastructure-investment firm, and previously served as a senior advisor at private-equity investor Warburg Pincus. He held senior leadership positions at American Airlines Group, Inc., serving as chairman, and at American Airlines, Inc., and AMR Corporation, where he served as chairman, CEO and president. During his tenure, he led American Airlines through its combination with USAirways in 2015.
Mike Wirth, Chevron's chairman and CEO, said Horton's leadership experience, board experience, and approach to governance would be valuable as the company continues its operations.
Horton currently serves on the boards of Walmart and General Electric. He previously served on the boards of Qualcomm and Enlink Midstream.
