Champions Oncology appoints Brian Alexander to board of directors

Champions Oncology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSBR) announced the appointment of Brian Alexander, MD, MPH, to its board of directors. Alexander previously held senior leadership positions at Valo Health, Flagship Pioneering, and Foundation Medicine.
The translational oncology research organization stated the appointment supports its strategy to expand the use of clinically relevant data in drug discovery and development. Champions operates a portfolio of patient-derived tumor models combined with molecular and clinical datasets.
"Brian brings a unique combination of clinical, scientific, and data-driven leadership experience that aligns closely with where Champions is heading," said Ronnie Morris, chairman of the board at Champions Oncology.
Alexander commented on his appointment: "The ability to connect well characterized tumor models with rich datasets creates a powerful opportunity to deepen our understanding of disease and enable more informed therapeutic development."
Champions Oncology maintains what it describes as the largest bank of clinically relevant patient-derived xenograft and primary hematological malignancy models. The company provides preclinical and clinical research services to biopharmaceutical organizations.
The Hackensack, New Jersey-based company operates bioanalytical platforms and data analytics services for oncology drug discovery and development programs.
