Capital Bank appoints Don Busick to board of directors

Capital Bank, a subsidiary of Capital Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: CBNK), announced the appointment of Don Busick to its board of directors. The bank disclosed the appointment in a statement released June 10.
Busick brings technology and digital transformation experience from his career at Capital One, where he worked for nearly 22 years. He most recently served as Executive Vice President at Capital One, leading a team of more than 5,000 associates responsible for enterprise-wide digital products and platforms. In that role, he helped grow mobile application adoption to more than 30 million users and led cloud transformation initiatives.
Currently, Busick serves as Managing Partner at Arica and as a board member at Koalafi. He also founded Small Venue Music. His background includes experience in product management, enterprise technology, credit card operations, and customer experience.
At Capital Bank, Busick will provide guidance on digital modernization across the bank's business lines, including commercial banking, mortgage, and Opensky operations. The bank stated his experience will support efforts to build customer-centric banking experiences.
"Don brings a rare combination of banking, product, technology, and operational leadership experience," said Jim Whalen, Chairman of the Capital Bank Board, according to the bank's statement.
Busick graduated from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce with a Bachelor of Science degree and resides in Glen Allen, Virginia.
Capital Bank, founded in 1999, reported more than $3.8 billion in assets as of March 31, 2026. The bank operates as a subsidiary of publicly traded Capital Bancorp Inc.
