BioHarvest Sciences appoints Prof. Hezi Levy to board

BioHarvest Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ: BHST) announced David Tsur will step down from its board of directors after more than four years of service. The company simultaneously appointed Prof. Hezi Levy to its board, effective immediately.

Tsur served on BioHarvest's board since 2021 during a period that included operational expansion, capital formation, and product commercialization activities.

Prof. Levy brings decades of healthcare leadership experience from Israel's healthcare system. He previously served as Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Health, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prof. Levy also held the position of Head of the Medical Corps of the Israel Defense Forces with the rank of Brigadier General and served as General Manager of Barzilai Medical Center.

"On behalf of the Board and management team, I would like to sincerely thank David for his leadership, experience and dedication over the past four years," said Zaki Rakib, Chairman of BioHarvest.

Rakib added regarding the new appointment: "We are honored to welcome Prof. Levy to the BioHarvest Board. His deep medical expertise, executive leadership and experience managing large healthcare systems will add significant strength to our governance as we execute our scaling of our direct-to-consumer products business while advancing our high-value biotechnology CDMO platform."

BioHarvest describes itself as utilizing botanical synthesis technology to grow plant-based compounds without growing the underlying plant. The company operates two business verticals: contract development and production organization services and proprietary nutraceutical products.
