BOXABL appoints economist Morris Davis to board of directors
BOXABL Inc. announced the appointment of Morris A. Davis to its board of directors, effective January 1, 2026. Davis previously served as Chief Housing Economist for the White House Council of Economic Advisers under President Donald Trump and as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board.
Davis holds the Paul V. Profeta Chair in Real Estate at Rutgers Business School and has authored research on mortgage policy and urban economics. During his tenure with the Trump administration, he worked on national housing policies aimed at reducing regulatory barriers and boosting construction.
"Morris Davis is a transformative force in housing economics, with unparalleled expertise from the halls of the Federal Reserve to the Oval Office," said Martin Costas, CFO of BOXABL.
The appointment comes as BOXABL advances toward a potential public listing through a business combination with FG Merger II Corp. (NASDAQ: FGMC). The merger, valued at $3.5 billion, is expected to close in early 2026.
BOXABL manufactures modular housing systems, including the Casita, a 361 square foot studio unit that unfolds on-site in less than an hour. The company has also announced the Baby Box, a 120 square foot unit built to RV code.
"I am thrilled to join BOXABL at this inflection point," said Davis. "Having advised the current administration on bold reforms to unleash housing supply, I've seen firsthand how innovation like BOXABL's can solve the housing-affordability crisis."
FG Merger II Corp. is a special purpose acquisition company formed to effect business combinations with one or more entities. The information is based on a company press release statement.
