Avantor appoints Gregory Lucier to board of directors

Avantor Inc. (NYSE: AVTR) announced the appointment of Gregory T. Lucier to its board of directors. The life sciences company made the announcement on October 3.



Lucier brings more than 30 years of experience in the life sciences industry to his new role. He currently serves as executive chairman and CEO of Corza Medical, a surgical technologies and medical device components manufacturer that he founded in 2021. He also chairs the board of Dentsply Sirona and serves on the board of Maravai LifeSciences.



Previously, Lucier served as chairman and CEO of NuVasive from 2015 to 2021 and Life Technologies from 2003 to 2014. During his tenure at Life Technologies, he grew the company from a mid-size enterprise to over $4 billion in sales before overseeing its sale to Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2014. His early career included executive leadership roles at General Electric Company.



"We are excited to welcome Greg to the Avantor Board of Directors," said Jonathan Peacock, chairman of the Avantor board. "Greg has a tremendous track record of driving growth and innovation during his more than 30-year career in the Life Sciences sector."



Lucier commented on his appointment, stating that Avantor "has the right foundation in place for sustained industry leadership and long-term value creation."



Lucier holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
