Atlassian Corporation (NASDAQ: TEAM) announced the appointment of Jason Warner to its board of directors, effective October 1, 2025. Warner co-founded and serves as co-chief executive officer of poolside, an artificial intelligence company developing foundation models.
Warner brings experience as a technology executive and software engineering leader. He previously served as chief technology officer at GitHub for four years, where he oversaw platform strategy and product launches including Actions, Packages, Advanced Security, Connect and Codespaces. Before GitHub, Warner was managing director on the growth team at Redpoint Ventures from 2021 to 2023.
Earlier in his career, Warner held positions as vice president of engineering at Heroku and led product engineering for Ubuntu Desktop and Phone at Canonical. He currently serves on the operating board of directors of Bridgewater Associates and holds a master's degree in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Atlassian also announced that Heather Mirjahangir Fernandez will retire from the board effective September 30, 2025. Fernandez, who serves as chief executive officer and co-founder of digital health company Solv, joined Atlassian's board in November 2015.
"Heather helped guide Atlassian through some of our most important periods of growth and innovation over the last decade," said Mike Cannon-Brookes, Atlassian CEO and co-founder, according to the company's statement.
The appointments represent a board transition as Atlassian continues developing AI capabilities within its collaboration and productivity software platform.
