She received the European Society of Medical Oncology Breast Cancer Award in 2023 and the Marni Levine Memorial Breast Cancer Research Award from 2008 through 2015.
"The formation of our SAB marks an important step in advancing Akari's scientific and clinical strategy," said Abizer Gaslightwala, President and Chief Executive Officer of Akari Therapeutics.
Dr. Hurvitz earned her MD from the University of Southern California and completed a hematology-oncology fellowship at UCLA in 2006. She holds board certifications in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology.
Akari Therapeutics develops ADCs for oncology applications. The company's lead candidate, AKTX-101, targets the Trop2 receptor and uses a proprietary PH1 payload designed to disrupt RNA splicing within cancer cells. The company also has AKTX-102 in development with an undisclosed target.
