bioAffinity Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: BIAF) reported that unit sales for its CyPath Lung diagnostic test reached a record monthly high in April 2026, representing a nearly 300% increase compared to April 2025, according to preliminary unaudited data.
The San Antonio-based biotechnology company said the growth continues to exceed internal projections and reflects increasing physician adoption of the noninvasive lung cancer diagnostic test. CyPath Lung is designed to aid in lung cancer risk assessment and pulmonary nodule management.
"The growth in CyPath Lung usage continues to accelerate at a rapid pace as the value of our novel lung cancer diagnostic is increasingly being recognized," said Maria Zannes, President and CEO of bioAffinity Technologies.
The test uses flow cytometry and artificial intelligence technology to analyze patient sputum samples. In a clinical trial involving high-risk patients with small indeterminate lung nodules less than 20 millimeters, CyPath Lung demonstrated 92% sensitivity, 87% specificity, 88% accuracy and 99% negative predictive value.
CyPath Lung is marketed as a Laboratory Developed Test through Precision Pathology Laboratory Services, a subsidiary of bioAffinity Technologies. The test is overseen under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments, administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The company said growth has been driven by expansion of ordering physician sites, increased peer-to-peer education among pulmonologists, and integration of CyPath Lung into clinical workflows. bioAffinity Technologies is conducting a large-scale longitudinal clinical study and exploring broader applications including monitoring lung cancer survivors after treatment.
