SurgePays launches free wireless service for SNAP households

October 30, 2025 1:43 PM EDT

SurgePays Inc. (NASDAQ: SURG) announced a free wireless program for households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits through its LinkUp Mobile prepaid brand.

The program provides unlimited talk and text plus 3GB of monthly data for up to five users per household. Eligible households can sign up at USASNAP.com.

The Tennessee-based wireless and fintech company launched the initiative as millions of Americans face uncertainty about continued SNAP funding due to an ongoing government shutdown. If congressional leaders fail to reach an agreement, benefit payments are expected to stop at the end of the month.

"When these families lose access to food assistance because of politics, we cannot stand by and do nothing," said Brian Cox, CEO of SurgePays. "Wireless service has become essential to everyday life for all Americans and helping families save money during this time of uncertainty is important to us."

SurgePays operates wireless brands and a proprietary point-of-sale platform deployed in thousands of retail locations nationwide. The company focuses on connecting underserved communities to mobile and financial services.

Cox noted that the company has delivered billions of dollars in essential services and connected millions of wireless customers over the years. "Our company was built to reach this exact demographic, the people most often overlooked and most affected by government dysfunction," he said.

The program allows households currently receiving SNAP benefits to maintain communication and access digital services during the period of uncertainty surrounding government funding.
