Strive Inc. (NASDAQ: ASST) appointed Ben Werkman as Chief Investment Officer, the Dallas-based company announced. Werkman will report to Chairman and CEO Matt Cole and become a board observer.

Werkman previously served as CIO at Swan Bitcoin, where he focused on capital-raising initiatives and implemented treasury services partnerships. He also founded NumerisX, a Bitcoin treasury advisory firm that guided corporations in developing Bitcoin treasury strategies. His background includes nine years at KPMG specializing in governance and corporate strategy, and experience in commercial banking during the global financial crisis.

In his new role, Werkman will oversee Strive's investment strategy, capital deployment, risk management frameworks, and Bitcoin initiatives.

"I'm thrilled to join Strive at this pivotal moment in Bitcoin's history where digital credit is emerging as the next frontier of corporate finance," Werkman said in the announcement. "Strive has the vision, the capital structure, and the expertise to be a leader in this transition."

CEO Matt Cole described the appointment as "a large talent boost to our already strong Bitcoin treasury team" and expressed confidence in the team's ability to pursue the company's goal of increasing Bitcoin per share for shareholders.

Strive describes itself as the first publicly traded asset management Bitcoin treasury company focused on increasing Bitcoin per share to outperform Bitcoin over the long run. Its subsidiary, Strive Asset Management LLC, manages over $2 billion in assets since launching its first ETF in August 2022.
