Silvaco appoints Walden Rhines as new CEO, replacing Babak Taheri

Silvaco Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: SVCO) announced that Dr. Babak Taheri has left the company as Chief Executive Officer, effective August 19, 2025. The semiconductor design software company's board appointed Walden "Wally" C. Rhines as the new CEO, effective immediately.
Taheri served as CEO for nearly seven years and led the company through its initial public offering. "It has been a great honor to work with the team and the board at Silvaco. I am very proud of our successful IPO and the sustained double-digit growth over several years," Taheri stated in the company's announcement.
Rhines has served on Silvaco's board of directors and audit committee since September 2022. He currently serves as President and CEO of Cornami, Inc., a position he has held since March 2020, and chairs the board of directors at Qorvo, Inc. (NASDAQ: QRVO).
From 1993 until March 2017, Rhines served as CEO of Mentor Graphics Corporation until its acquisition by Siemens. Following the acquisition, he served as President and CEO of Siemens EDA. Rhines holds engineering degrees from the University of Michigan and Stanford University, plus an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Silvaco provides TCAD, EDA software, and SIP solutions for semiconductor design and digital twin modeling. The Santa Clara, California-based company serves display, power devices, automotive, memory, and other technology markets globally.
