Siemens renews technical partnership with Ducati for two years
Siemens Digital Industries Software has extended its technical partnership with Ducati Corse for two years, the company announced. The partnership involves Ducati's continued use of the Siemens Xcelerator platform for motorcycle research and development.
The collaboration enables Ducati to remotely design new components using Siemens technology during race weekends, which are then sent to tracks and produced with 3D printers, according to Massimiliano Bertei, CTO of Ducati Motor Holding.
Ducati's research and development teams use multiple Siemens software solutions, including Polarion for requirements management, NX for design, and Teamcenter for connecting design and engineering data with the company's ERP system. The motorcycle manufacturer also employs Simcenter software for virtual simulation and Fibersim software for carbon fiber parts development.
The partnership connects Ducati's racing operations with its street bike business through shared data and collaboration tools. Pietro Mappa, CAD/PLM manager at Ducati Motor Holding, stated that the platform has reduced development times by enabling full data sharing between racing and street bike divisions.
Ducati's racing team won the 2025 MotoGP championship, with Marc Márquez securing the Riders' Title. The team also claimed its sixth consecutive MotoGP Constructors' Title and the MotoGP Team Title for 2025.
Siemens AG reported revenue of €75.9 billion and net income of €9.0 billion in fiscal 2024, which ended September 30, 2024. The company employed approximately 312,000 people worldwide as of that date.
