Ramaco Resources Inc. (NASDAQ: METC, METCB) announced Martin van Wyk will join the company as Senior Vice President of Critical Minerals Processing. Van Wyk will relocate from Australia to the United States to lead critical minerals processing development at the Brook Mine Project in Wyoming.

Van Wyk brings more than 23 years of experience in mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, and rare earth elements flowsheet development. His expertise covers iron ore, magnetite, heavy minerals, lithium, vanadium, zinc, coal, graphite, and uranium processing.

Van Wyk previously worked on Ramaco's Brook Mine project through an independent engineering firm, serving as Process SME and modeler. He designed test work, reviewed results, optimized flowsheet development, and coordinated pilot test work with third-party laboratories.

"Martin's depth of experience in rare earth and critical mineral processing is unmatched, and his innovative approach to flowsheet development and process optimization will be instrumental as we advance our commercial critical minerals strategy," said Randall W. Atkins, Chairman and CEO of Ramaco Resources.

Van Wyk's previous roles include positions at RockTech Lithium in Germany and Finland, Wave International in Australia, Iluka Resources, Bureau Veritas Australia, ProMet Engineers, Rossing Uranium in Namibia, Anglo American in South Africa, and Exxaro in South Africa.

He holds a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering and Post Graduate Certificate in Corrosion Engineering from Curtin University, plus a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Pretoria.

Ramaco operates metallurgical coal mining complexes in Central Appalachia and develops rare earth and critical minerals in Wyoming. The company announced in 2023 that it discovered a deposit of primary magnetic rare earths and critical minerals at its Wyoming mine near Sheridan.
