Polestar plans four new electric vehicle models through 2028

February 18, 2026 6:01 AM EST

Polestar (NASDAQ: PSNY) announced plans to launch four new electric vehicle models over the next three years, marking what the company calls its largest model expansion.

The Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer will begin deliveries of the Polestar 5 four-door grand tourer in summer 2026, followed by a new variant of the Polestar 4 in the fourth quarter of 2026. A successor to the Polestar 2 sedan is planned for launch in early 2027, with the compact SUV Polestar 7 scheduled for 2028.

The company expects low double-digit volume growth in 2026 and plans to expand its retail network by 30%. Polestar reported its highest retail sales year in 2025, according to the press release statement.

Chief Executive Michael Lohscheller said the new models target segments where customer demand and profit opportunities are high. The Polestar 4 currently serves as the company's best-selling model, while the Polestar 2 has sold over 190,000 units since its introduction.

The Polestar 7 will enter the compact SUV segment, which accounts for approximately one-third of battery electric vehicle volumes in Europe as of 2025. The model will be manufactured in Europe.

Polestar currently operates in 28 markets across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The company manufactures vehicles in North America and Asia, with plans to add European production for the Polestar 7.

The company will provide financial guidance alongside its full-year 2025 results. Polestar hosted a strategy update webcast on February 18.
