Planet Labs elects GE Vernova executive Scott Reese to board

Planet Labs PBC (NYSE: PL) announced that Scott Reese has been elected to its board of directors by stockholder written consent. Reese serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Electrification Software business at GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV).



The election will become effective 40 days after the related Notice of Internet Availability of Information Statement is sent to Planet's stockholders, which the company expects to occur in early November 2025.



Reese brings two decades of software industry experience to Planet's board. Before joining GE Vernova, he served as Executive Vice President of Product Development & Manufacturing Solutions at Autodesk (NASDAQ: ADSK), where he worked from 2003 following the acquisition of VIA Development Corporation. He previously served on the board of directors at Model N, Inc. (NYSE: MODN) from 2019 to 2024.



Reese holds a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.



"His deep product leadership and expertise for software companies over two decades, is exactly what we need as we build out Planet's platform," said Will Marshall, Planet's CEO and Co-Founder.



Planet Labs operates a fleet of Earth observation satellites and provides daily satellite imagery and geospatial solutions to agriculture, forestry, intelligence, education, finance companies and government agencies. The San Francisco-based company was founded in 2010 and trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
