Philips Norelco launches Head Shaver Pro series with new technology

Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG) announced the launch of its Philips Norelco Head Shaver Pro Series, an electric shaver designed for head shaving with PowerAdapt Sensor technology and a 360-degree flexing head.

The device features 36 ComfortCut blades and PowerAdapt Sensor technology that adjusts to hair thickness in real time. The 360-degree flexing head adapts to scalp contours and cuts hair in multiple directions. The shaver includes a hair collection system to capture cut hairs during use.

Additional specifications include up to 90 minutes of cordless operation from a one-hour charge, with a five-minute quick charge option for single use. The device is waterproof for wet or dry use and includes a rinsing stand, travel lock and storage pouch.

"Head shaving is a growing choice for people who want a clean, confident look," said Rafael Viestel da Silva, Philips Grooming and Beauty Marketing Director. "The Philips Norelco Head Shaver Pro Series brings our decades of rotary technology to this category, delivering a close, comfortable shave with the control and precision that Philips is known for."

The company cited research indicating that among more than 70 million men in the United States experiencing balding, nearly half shave their heads. Philips said this represents growing demand for head shaving solutions beyond basic trimming.

The Head Shaver Pro series is available on Philips.com, Amazon.com and Walmart.com, with additional retailers planned through 2025 and 2026. Retail prices range from $79.99 to $139.99 for the series, with replacement heads priced at $34.99. The company offers up to five years warranty with product registration.

Royal Philips reported 2024 sales of EUR 18 billion and employs approximately 69,300 people across more than 100 countries, according to the press release.
