Parsons Corporation (NYSE: PSN) and Globalstar (NASDAQ: GSAT) completed a proof of concept demonstration that integrated Globalstar's low Earth orbit satellite capabilities with Parsons' software-defined communication technologies across three European ground stations.
The demonstration validated performance and operational readiness for real-world deployment, according to a press release from the companies. The partnership aims to provide satellite communication solutions for defense and emergency communications applications.
"Globalstar's infrastructure gives us the low latency, global coverage, and proven performance that our customers demand," said Mike Kushin, President of Defense and Intelligence for Parsons. "This successful proof of concept confirms that Globalstar's capabilities combined with Parsons' innovative technologies are driving the future of mission-critical communications."
The system uses Globalstar's LEO satellite constellation to deliver communications services worldwide, particularly in areas where traditional infrastructure may be compromised. The companies previously conducted prototype testing in the continental United States before the European demonstration.
"This milestone is powerful validation of the resiliency and reliability of Globalstar's network to support mission-critical government and defense communications," said Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, Globalstar CEO.
The companies stated the partnership will now move into a commercial phase following the demonstration. Parsons provides national security and critical infrastructure solutions, while Globalstar operates a telecommunications infrastructure using low Earth orbit satellites.
