Onity Group adds Robert Welborn to board of directors

Onity Group Inc. (NYSE: ONIT) appointed Robert S. Welborn to its board of directors, effective October 1, 2025, according to a company statement.
Welborn brings experience in data science and analytics from leadership roles at Meta Inc., General Motors Company, and USAA. At Meta, he served as Head of Data Science from 2020 through 2024. He previously held the position of Global Chief Data and Analytics Officer at General Motors between 2018 and 2020, and served as Chief Data Scientist at USAA from 2009 to 2017.
The West Palm Beach, Florida-based financial services company also announced that DeForest B. Soaries Jr. will not seek re-election at the 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders scheduled for May 20, 2026. Soaries has served on the board since 2015 and will continue in his role until the meeting.
"Robert brings deep domain knowledge and extensive experience in driving business insights, growth and transformation through the application of data science and analytics," said Glen A. Messina, Chair, President and CEO of Onity.
Welborn currently serves as a director of NOV Inc. (NYSE: NOV), an energy industry equipment and technology provider, since 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, San Diego.
Onity Group operates as a non-bank financial services company through its PHH Mortgage and Liberty Reverse Mortgage brands, providing mortgage servicing and origination solutions.
