Newton Golf Company (NASDAQ: NWTG) appointed John Bode to its board of directors, expanding the board to five members with three serving as independent directors, according to a company statement.

Bode brings over 20 years of senior financial leadership and public company governance experience. He currently serves as executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief transformation officer of Postmedia Network Canada Corp.

The appointment follows what Newton Golf described as a record revenue performance in 2025. Executive Chairman and CEO Dr. Greg Campbell stated that Bode's experience in financial oversight and governance will support the company's expansion plans.

Bode serves on the boards of Stewards, a private credit and digital finance platform; The McClatchy Company, a newspaper publisher; and SPAR Group (NASDAQ: SGRP), a merchandising and marketing services provider.

He is founder and partner of Maxim Golf Solutions, which provides management and consulting services for golf courses. Bode holds majority ownership in Eagle Knoll Golf Club, Tiffany Greens Golf Club, and Dub's Dread Golf Club.

Previously, Bode served as chief operating officer of ReaderLink Distribution Services and chief financial officer of Tribune Publishing Company. He also held the chief financial officer position at Source Interlink Companies.

Bode earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the golf team.
