New Relic appoints Brian Emerson as chief product officer

New Relic (NYSE: NEWR) announced the appointment of Brian Emerson as Chief Product Officer. Emerson will lead innovation strategy and execution for the company's Intelligent Observability Platform, which serves 85,000 customers globally.



Emerson brings more than 25 years of experience in product development and management at software and cloud platform companies. He previously served as Group Vice President and General Manager at ServiceNow, where he scaled IT Operations Management revenue by nine times while overseeing strategy and product execution. The ITOM portfolio became one of ServiceNow's fastest-growing businesses under his leadership.



Before ServiceNow, Emerson held senior product leadership roles at VMware, BMC Software, and Remedy, working on enterprise software solutions.

Emerson will report to Willy and lead the product management team as it manages new platform capabilities and partner integrations. New Relic launched more than 25 innovations for its platform in the past year, providing IT and business teams with a unified view across infrastructure, applications, and AI pipelines.



New Relic was named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Observability Platforms for the 13th consecutive time, recognized for its vision and execution in AI-strengthened workflows.
