NeuroSense Therapeutics Ltd. (NASDAQ: NRSN) announced the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Patent No. 12,527,768 for compositions comprising an anti-inflammatory drug and a dicer activator for treating neuronal diseases.
The patent provides protection for the use of PrimeC combination in Alzheimer's disease through 2043. PrimeC is an extended-release oral formulation combining ciprofloxacin and celecoxib, both FDA-approved drugs.
"This patent meaningfully expands and reinforces our intellectual property position around the PrimeC combination," said Alon Ben-Noon, co-founder and chief executive officer of NeuroSense.
The company completed its proof-of-concept Alzheimer's disease study called RoAD, which showed a favorable safety and tolerability profile according to top-line results. Clinical and biomarker outcomes from the study are expected in the first quarter of 2026.
NeuroSense develops treatments for neurodegenerative diseases including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company focuses on combined therapies targeting multiple pathways associated with these conditions.
Alzheimer's disease affects more than 30 million people globally and currently has no cure. The progressive neurodegenerative disorder causes memory loss, cognitive decline and behavioral changes, with existing therapies providing only limited symptomatic relief.
The information is based on a company press release statement.
