NEXE Innovations receives 1.2 million pod order from Bridgehead Coffee
NEXE Innovations Inc. (TSX.V: NEXE) announced it received a purchase order for 1.2 million compostable coffee pods from partner Bridgehead Coffee to support the coffee company's planned launch at Costco stores in Canada.
The Windsor, Ontario-based company said the initial shipment of 625,000 BPI-certified compostable pods will support the rollout of Bridgehead's coffee products in Ontario Costco locations, with additional deliveries expected as the launch expands.
"We believe this purchase order highlights the growing interest in our compostable pod technology and our ability to support retail partners with scalable solutions," said Ash Guglani, President of NEXE Innovations.
Bridgehead Coffee partnered with NEXE in 2024 to transition from soft-bottom compostable pods to NEXE's compostable format. Under a two-year master manufacturing agreement signed in December 2024, NEXE produces Bridgehead's Centro House and Bytown Boom blends in its proprietary pod.
The BPI-certified compostable pods are engineered to break down completely in commercial composting facilities and are compatible with Keurig brewing machines. NEXE said the pods are designed to deliver a comparable brewing experience to conventional single-use plastic pods.
NEXE Innovations focuses on providing compostable material solutions and packaging to businesses. The company has developed a patented compostable material designed to withstand heat, pressure, and water, and manufactures its products at a vertically integrated facility in North America.
The information is based on a press release statement from the company.
