The National Association of Corporate Directors announced the appointment of Jesús Mantas and Wes Bricker to its board of directors, effective immediately.
Mantas recently retired as global leader of IBM Business Consulting and serves on the boards of Biogen (NASDAQ: BIIB), where he chairs the compensation and management development committee, and International Flavors & Fragrances (NYSE: IFF), where he sits on the innovation and audit committees. He also serves as a senior advisor for NASDAQ and is vice chair of the board of HITEC.
"I am honored to follow my mentor and fellow IBM senior leader Nick Donofrio as I join the NACD board," Mantas said in the announcement. "As directors, we face compounding geopolitical, generational and technological disruption in the companies and communities we serve."
Bricker serves as Global Assurance Leader at PwC, overseeing 134,000 assurance partners and staff across the PwC network. He previously held the role of PwC U.S. vice chair and Trust Solutions co-leader, and served as chief accountant of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He sits on the board of the American Institute of Certified Professional Accountants and chairs the board of XBRL International.
"NACD plays a critical role in elevating board performance and advancing trust in the capital markets," Bricker said. "I'm honored to join the NACD board and contribute to its work in strengthening governance, transparency and board-management alignment."
Peter Gleason, president and CEO of NACD, said the appointments bring expertise in digital transformation, innovation, and regulatory and audit issues to the organization.
Mantas holds degrees in telecommunications and business administration from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and is certified in Corporate Governance by Harvard Business School. Bricker is a certified public accountant licensed in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.
NACD has operated as a member organization for corporate directors for more than 47 years and maintains a network of more than 24,000 members across 20 chapters, according to the press release statement.
