LuxUrban Hotels Inc. (NASDAQ: LUXH) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on September 14, 2025, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The filing includes certain direct and indirect subsidiaries of the company.
The cases are being administered under case number 25-12000. LuxUrban Hotels plans to continue operating its business and managing properties as a debtor-in-possession under sections 1107 and 1108 of the Bankruptcy Code.
The company expects to maintain ordinary-course operations during the Chapter 11 proceedings while pursuing a court-supervised process to restructure its debt and obligations, according to the press release.
The bankruptcy filing triggered default provisions in certain of the company's debt instruments, making principal and interest payments immediately due and payable. These payment obligations are subject to an automatic stay under the Chapter 11 cases, preventing creditors from enforcing collection efforts while the bankruptcy proceedings continue.
The automatic stay provisions of the Bankruptcy Code now govern creditors' enforcement rights regarding these obligations.
