Lumentum appoints onsemi CFO Thad Trent to board of directors

Lumentum Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: LITE) announced the appointment of Thad Trent to its board of directors, effective immediately. The appointment expands the board to nine members.

Trent currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer of onsemi (NASDAQ: ON), a position he has held since February 2021. He previously served as chief financial officer of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation from 2014 until its acquisition by Infineon Technologies in 2020.

His career began in 1992 and includes finance leadership roles at Wind River Systems and Wyle Electronics. Trent holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from San Diego State University.

"He brings a wealth of expertise in corporate finance, M&A activity, in-house manufacturing and process efficiency," said Penelope Herscher, chair of Lumentum's board of directors.

San Jose, California-based Lumentum designs and manufactures optical and photonic products for optical networking and laser applications. The company's components are used in telecom, enterprise and data center networks, while its lasers enable manufacturing techniques and 3D sensing applications.
