Lucid Diagnostics Inc. (NASDAQ: LUCD) appointed Danielle Scelfo as Senior Vice President, Market Access & Government Affairs, the company announced September 16.
Scelfo brings over 25 years of experience in market access, reimbursement, and government affairs within the diagnostics industry. She will report to Chief Executive Officer Lishan Aklog and oversee the company's efforts to secure insurance coverage for its EsoGuard Esophageal DNA Test.
The appointment comes as Lucid pursues Medicare coverage for EsoGuard following what the company described as a positive MolDX CAC meeting. The company is also working to expand commercial insurance coverage for the test.
"Lucid is at an important inflection point as we seek to expand patient access to our groundbreaking EsoGuard test and unlock its substantial commercial opportunity," Aklog said in a statement.
Scelfo most recently served as Vice President, Market Access & Health Policy at ClearNote Health. Her previous roles included senior positions at CareDx Inc., Hologic Inc., Adaptive Biotechnologies Corporation, and Genomic Health Inc. She also held positions at UnitedHealthcare, Johnson & Johnson, and Sanofi.
The EsoGuard test is designed to detect esophageal precancer in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease who are at risk of developing esophageal cancer. The test is performed on samples collected using Lucid's EsoCheck cell collection device.
Lucid Diagnostics is a subsidiary of PAVmed Inc. (NASDAQ: PAVM) and focuses on cancer prevention medical diagnostics.
