Lightpath, a fiber network provider jointly owned by Optimum Communications (NYSE: OPTU) and Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, has deployed Oracle Cloud Scale Billing and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications to overhaul its billing and back-office operations, according to a press release from Oracle (NYSE: ORCL).
The Oracle Cloud Scale Billing system enables Lightpath to manage complex billing for enterprise customers, including concurrent support for multiple pricing and payment models across large installations with millions of IoT devices. The solution covers subscriptions, invoices, collections, payments, settlements, and receivables.
Lightpath also implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM for finance and supply chain processes, using embedded AI to automate workflows, reduce costs, and streamline financial planning and reporting. Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM is being used to manage order fulfillment and supply chain disruptions.
The company plans to add Oracle Unified Assurance, a machine learning-driven platform for real-time network and service observability, to help identify and resolve service-impacting issues.
"Oracle's modern digital solutions are essential for our next phase of growth," said Jason Tibbs, Chief Information Officer at Lightpath. "This partnership empowers us to accelerate our time-to-market for new services and enrich experiences for our customers."
Lightpath operates an all-fiber network spanning more than 12,100 route miles, connecting over 185 data centers and more than 17,500 lit locations across major U.S. metro markets including New York, Boston, Miami, and Phoenix. The company serves customers in healthcare, education, government, financial services, media, and the hyperscaler sector.
Oracle's Customer Solutions for Industries consulting team assisted with the implementation, including data migration from Lightpath's legacy billing system.
