Liberty Gold appoints Lauren Roberts to board, reports Q2 results

Liberty Gold Corp. (TSX: LGD; OTCQX: LGDTF) announced the appointment of Lauren Roberts to its board of directors effective September 1, 2025. The company also reported its second quarter 2025 financial results.



Roberts brings over 35 years of international mining experience and previously served as chief operating officer at Kinross Gold Corporation, where he oversaw eight operating mines producing approximately 2.5 million gold ounces annually across six countries. He also held leadership roles at Hecla Mining Company.



For the three months ended June 30, 2025, Liberty Gold reported a loss from continuing operations of $4.3 million, compared to $3.5 million in the same period last year. The six-month loss from continuing operations was $7.0 million versus $6.5 million in 2024.



The company's cash and short-term investments increased to $17.7 million as of June 30, 2025, from $7.0 million at December 31, 2024. Working capital rose to $17.0 million from $7.3 million over the same period.



Liberty Gold completed a bought deal financing in April 2025, raising gross proceeds of C$23.0 million through the sale of 69.7 million units at C$0.33 each. The company commenced a 40,000-meter drill program at its Black Pine project in May 2025 to support feasibility-level engineering studies planned for the fourth quarter of 2025.



In June 2025, Jon Gilligan was appointed as president and chief executive officer, replacing Cal Everett who retired. The company also announced plans to spin out its Goldstrike project and Antimony Ridge discovery into a separate entity called Specialty American Metals Inc.
