Lexaria Bioscience hires advisory firm, receives 4 new patents

Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX)(NASDAQ: LEXXW) announced it has engaged a global life science business development advisory firm to identify collaborative opportunities in pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. The company also received four new patents expanding its intellectual property portfolio.

The drug delivery platform company completed an equity financing that generated $4.0 million in gross proceeds. These funds will support business development activities and research and development programs through the first half of 2026. Prior to this financing, the company's operations were funded through the end of 2025.

The four newly awarded patents cover therapeutic applications including diabetes treatments, hypertension, seizure disorders, and antiviral treatments. The patents were granted between July and October 2025 in the United States, Australia, and Europe. Patent AU 2024202475 covers compositions and methods for treating epilepsy, while US 12,397,042 addresses diabetes treatments.

Lexaria's DehydraTECH technology platform focuses on drug delivery improvements across pharmaceutical sectors. The company has identified potential applications in diabetes control, weight loss, hypertension, seizure disorders, anti-viral treatments, and hormone replacement.

The company expects final results from its Phase 1b Australian study in the GLP-1 sector, which examines patient safety and efficacy with DehydraTECH processing of GLP-1 and related drugs.

Lexaria operates a licensed research laboratory and maintains an intellectual property portfolio with 54 granted patents and additional pending applications worldwide. The company's DehydraTECH technology is designed to improve drug absorption through oral delivery methods.
