NLS Pharmaceutics Ltd. (NASDAQ: NLSP) and Kadimastem Ltd. (TASE: KDST) announced that Kadimastem has signed a memorandum of understanding with TargetGene Biotechnologies Ltd. to develop gene-edited cell therapy products.

The collaboration combines Kadimastem's cell therapy platforms, including AstroRx for ALS and IsletRx for diabetes, with TargetGene's gene-editing technology. The partnership aims to develop treatments designed to enhance therapeutic performance, stability, and safety.

The memorandum establishes a framework for joint research and development activities, technology exchange, and future licensing opportunities. The collaboration is expected to continue under NewCelX, the combined company that would result from the anticipated merger between NLS and Kadimastem.

"Our collaboration with Kadimastem represents an exciting step forward in the evolution of cell-based medicine," said Yoel Shiboleth, chief executive officer of TargetGene. "By combining TargetGene's precision gene-editing technology with Kadimastem's proven stem cell platforms, we believe that we can push the boundaries of what's possible in regenerative medicine."

Prof. Michel Revel, chief scientist and founder of Kadimastem, said the integration of gene editing with stem-cell-derived therapeutic cells "potentially opens new horizons in regenerative medicine."

NLS Pharmaceutics is a Swiss clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on central nervous system and neurodegenerative disorders. Kadimastem is developing cell therapy solutions for diseases including ALS and diabetes. TargetGene is a privately held Israeli biotechnology company specializing in gene-editing technologies.
