James Hardie Industries plc (NYSE/ASX: JHX) announced preliminary financial results for its fiscal second quarter ended September 30, 2025, reporting net sales of $1.29 to $1.30 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $326 to $331 million.
The exterior building materials company reported adjusted net income of $151 to $157 million and adjusted diluted earnings per share of $0.26 to $0.27 for the quarter. Net debt stood at $4.5 billion as of September 30, 2025.
CEO Aaron Erter said siding and trim sales performance exceeded expectations, with organic net sales falling in the low single digits compared to the prior year. Distributors and dealers reduced inventory less than anticipated, despite challenges in single-family new construction.
"We are encouraged by our second quarter results and believe the outlook for Siding & Trim has modestly improved," Erter said. The company plans to provide updated full-year guidance during its earnings call in November.
The AZEK integration, acquired by James Hardie, remains on track with synergy capture initiatives proceeding as planned. AZEK reported mid-single digit growth in both net sales and sell-through for deck, rail and accessories products compared to the prior year.
Erter noted opportunities to secure additional shelf space for deck, rail and accessories products and expand James Hardie siding and trim into AZEK's dealer network in repair and remodel markets.
The preliminary results are subject to the company's detailed quarter-end closing procedures and may differ from final reported figures. James Hardie will hold its earnings conference call on November 18, 2025.
