J-Star names Sam Van as chief executive officer effective october 1
J-Star Holding Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: YMAT) announced that Sam Van will serve as chief executive officer effective October 1, according to a company press release. Van will succeed Jonathan Chiang, who will continue as chairman of the board.
Van previously served as CEO of SRO Partners, an investment firm focused on high growth companies. He has assisted more than 70 companies complete initial public offerings and list on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq during his career. Van previously held senior positions including senior vice president and head of advisory services for Freedom U.S. Markets and director of business development for the New York Stock Exchange. He currently serves on the boards of Picard Medical Holdings (NYSE: PMI) and Reed's, Inc (OTCQX: REED).
The leadership change comes after J-Star completed its recent initial public offering. The Taiwan-based company manufactures carbon fiber and composite solutions for sports equipment, healthcare products, automobile parts, and other applications.
"Sam is the right leader to guide J-Star into its next chapter as a public company," said Chiang in the press release. "He is a respected executive with deep experience in global capital markets and a proven ability to help companies achieve scale and unlock growth."
Van stated he is "honored to step into the role of CEO" and looks forward to partnering with the team "to accelerate growth, strengthen our global footprint, and create long-term value."
J-Star operates through subsidiaries in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Samoa. The company's predecessor group was established in 1970.
