Hitachi Energy to acquire Canadian transformer parts maker Canduct
Hitachi Energy has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Canduct Group, an Ontario, Canada-based manufacturer of transformer insulation kits and components, according to a press release from the company.
The transaction is expected to close at the start of the third calendar quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 1982, Canduct supplies transformer insulation products to original equipment manufacturers and repair companies across the U.S. and Canada. The company has been a supplier to Hitachi Energy for more than two decades and employs more than 300 people.
Bruno Melles, CEO of Business Unit Transformers at Hitachi Energy, said the acquisition would expand regional capabilities and strengthen supply chains for insulation kits and components in North America.
Hitachi Energy is headquartered in Switzerland and is part of Hitachi Group (Tokyo: 6501). The company employs more than 56,000 people across 60 countries and reports revenues of approximately $20 billion.
