Hadron Energy names Ken Canavan as COO, Rahul Shukla as CFO

Hadron Energy, Inc. announced the appointment of Ken Canavan as Chief Operating Officer and Rahul Shukla as Chief Financial Officer, along with additional senior leadership additions as the company prepares for its proposed $1.2 billion public listing through a business combination with GigCapital7 Corp. (NASDAQ: GIG).



The company also added Dr. Lander Ibarra and Jason Christensen to its technical and regulatory leadership team. Following the completion of its business combination with GigCapital7, Raanan Horowitz will join the post-combination Hadron Board of Directors as the eighth member and serve as Chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.



Canavan brings nearly four decades of nuclear industry experience, most recently serving as President and CEO of E4 Carolinas. Previously, he held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Westinghouse Electric Company, where he oversaw the eVinci Microreactor program, a development effort exceeding $200 million. Earlier in his career, he spent over 15 years at the Electric Power Research Institute managing a global research and development portfolio exceeding $50 million annually.



Shukla joins from Stem, Inc., where he served as Chief Accounting Officer at the publicly traded clean-energy software company. He oversaw global accounting teams and supported a $700 million acquisition integration. Previously, he held senior finance roles at Natera, Inc. and eHealth, Inc., supporting multiple public offerings totaling more than $1.6 billion in capital raised.



Dr. Ibarra comes from Argonne National Laboratory, where he served as a Principal Nuclear Engineer leading thermal-hydraulic methods development for advanced reactor applications. He previously spent over a decade at GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy supporting light water reactor operations.



Christensen joins from Idaho National Laboratory, where he serves as a Regulatory Development and Support Engineer supporting the Department of Energy Microreactor Program. He previously worked as a Construction Inspector and Materials Engineer at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.



Horowitz previously served as President and CEO of Elbit Systems of America, leading the U.S. subsidiary into a $1.6 billion enterprise with more than 3,600 employees.



The appointments support Hadron's development of its Halo Micro-Modular Reactor, designed to deliver 10 MW of power in a transportable shipping container format.
