Google expands AI travel tools with global flight deals feature

November 17, 2025 12:47 PM EST

Google announced the global expansion of Flight Deals, an AI-powered search tool within Google Flights that helps travelers find affordable destinations. The feature, previously available in the U.S., Canada and India, now operates in more than 200 countries and territories including the U.K., France, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan and Korea, with support for over 60 languages.

Flight Deals allows users to describe their travel preferences in natural language, and AI analyzes the request to show available bargains. The tool targets flexible travelers seeking cost-effective trip options.

Google also introduced Canvas, a planning tool within AI Mode that creates customized travel itineraries. The feature combines real-time flight and hotel data from Search, information from Google Maps including photos and reviews, and content from various websites. Canvas is currently available on desktop in the U.S. for users enrolled in the AI Mode experiment through Labs.

The company expanded its agentic AI booking capabilities to help users make restaurant reservations through AI Mode. The system searches multiple reservation platforms and provides curated options with direct booking links through partners including OpenTable, Resy, Tock and others. Restaurant booking rolled out this week in the U.S. without requiring Labs enrollment.

Google stated it plans to enable direct flight and hotel booking through AI Mode in the future. The company is collaborating with travel industry partners including Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts to develop this functionality.

The updates represent Google's effort to integrate AI capabilities into travel planning and booking processes, according to the company's press release.
