Globex Mining appoints David Christie as president and COO

Globex Mining Enterprises Inc. (TSX: GMX) announced management changes effective immediately, with Jack Stoch assuming the role of Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and David Christie being appointed as President and Chief Operating Officer.

Christie brings 39 years of experience in the resource and finance sectors. He previously served as President and CEO of Orford Mining Corp, taking the company public in 2017 and securing $34 million in equity financings before its acquisition by Alamos Gold. He also held the position of President and CEO at Eagle Hill Exploration Corp, facilitating a five-way merger that created Osisko Mining.

His background includes roles as Vice President at Goodman & Company Investment Counsel and Dundee Resources Inc., where he assisted in managing resource funds. Christie spent 12 years as a senior gold and precious metals equity analyst with Scotia Capital and TD Securities, and worked 15 years as an exploration geologist primarily with Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd.

Christie currently serves on the boards of Lodestar Metals Corp. and Orbec Gold Mines Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from McMaster University and is a Professional Geoscientist with NAPEG and PGO.

Christie completed a seven-month contract as Vice President Corporate Development at Globex before his appointment to the new executive position. The company trades on multiple exchanges including Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Berlin, Munich, and OTCQX International in the United States under various symbols.

The management restructuring was announced in a press release issued by the Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec-based mining company.
